A new ABTL Report article by GMSR’s Gary Wax provides tips for advocates on how to use the “Maxims of Jurisprudence” to persuade courts.

Gary’s article explains how Maxims of Jurisprudence can be wielded effectively to bolster legal arguments about what the “fair” result should be for your client.  He advises advocates not to shy away from invoking the maxims, as well as everyday proverbs, adages, and aphorisms—but suggests paraphrasing any Latin terms into English, to most effectively persuade the reader.
