International Municipal Lawyers Association Litigation Webinar — Coming Attractions: Open Issues in Civil Rights Litigation Ripe for Supreme Court Review
GMSR Partner Tim Coates will present a discussion of the surprising number of significant legal issues in section 1983 litigation that the Supreme Court has yet to resolve, including the nature and extent of constitutional claims for malicious prosecution or wrongful death, what authority, other than Supreme Court decisions can “clearly establish” the law for qualified immunity, and what constitutes a de minimis recovery for purposes of an attorney fee reduction under Farrar v. Hobby.
Tim has represented municipalities in appellate courts across the United States, including six victories in the United States Supreme Court. He was appointed Co-Chair of the International Municipal Lawyers Association’s California State Region.
This webinar is free live for IMLA members! CLE available to IMLA Kitchen Sink Subscribers and in some cases to others but fees may apply. Register here: https://bit.ly/3jFXjC3
