Plaintiff sued a religious sober-living home where he resided, for injuries he suffered in a car accident when a home employee was driving him to apply for a state identification card. The trial court granted summary judgment for the home based on a liability waiver that plaintiff signed when he was admitted to the home. Representing the home on appeal, GMSR argued that the waiver unambiguously applied to the car accident and was not contrary to public policy. The Court of Appeal agreed, affirming the judgment in favor of GMSR’s client.
