John Metzidis is an appellate lawyer with a broad practice covering civil matters. John spent the first 15 years of his career litigating matters mostly at the trial level, first at a large international law firm and then at a trial litigation boutique. He knows and has lived the challenges that trial lawyers face.
Working now as an appellate lawyer, John serves appellate clients through extensive law and motion experience, his sharp research and writing skills, and his strategic and analytical mind. John remains a generalist capable of handling all sorts of civil matters; but he also has particular experience in the fields of intellectual property, entertainment, real estate, healthcare, and partnership/shareholder disputes. John also has extensive experience with the myriad civil procedure and discovery issues that arise in state and federal court.
John was born and raised in Southern California and has lived his entire life there, save for three years attending law school in Philadelphia. During the summer after his first year of law school, John externed in the chambers of U.S. District Judge James V. Selna in Santa Ana – and knew right away that he wanted to be a litigator.
Outside of work, John enjoys fitness (more weightlifting, less running these days), reading and listening to audiobooks about history and world affairs, baking Greek pastries, and spending time with family and friends. He and his partner share their home with a Cocker Spaniel / Golden Retriever mix (Charlie) and a Russian Blue / Siberian kitty (Trotsky).
