Attorney Jeff Raskin has been invited to speak at a meeting of the Asian-Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley to discuss the facts and legal theories in the closely watched case of Sheppard, Mullen, Richter & Hampton LLP v. J-M Manufacturing Co., Inc., which is pending before the California Supreme Court. The CLE event, “Walking the Tightrope in Waiving Conflicts of Interest” will look at the validity of law firms’ boilerplate conflict waivers and if whether a law firm may be required to forfeit its fees because it failed to inform a client about a potential conflict of interest. The CLE will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto, CA.
GMSR successfully represented J-M Manufacturing Co., Inc. with $1.7 million in attorney fees reversed by the Second District Court of Appeal, Division 4.
